Curaçao Joins the Caribbean Community

It Becomes a New Associate Member of CARICOM

Curaçao, a territory of the Netherlands, has become an associate member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). This was announced in a statement from the association posted on its X (formerly Twitter) page.

Curaçao has become the sixth associate member of CARICOM. In addition to associate members, the organization, established in 1973, includes 15 states and territories from the Caribbean and Central America.

Curaçao is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, meaning it operates with significant internal autonomy while remaining part of the Dutch realm. Its new status as an associate member of CARICOM reflects its growing role in regional cooperation and its commitment to strengthening ties with Caribbean nations.
